omg, this does not work at all . someone help me ?

I have installed/downloaded this version of msn so many times and get this erroc message every time i try to open it.

CAN ANYONE HELP?? I can't use msn otherwise

I've been using WLM Lite version 8.0.0792 for the last weeks, but now Msn forces me to update to a new version. I would like to use Live Messenger Lite v8.1.0178.00, but it doesn't work. It gives me the same error other people wrote before. If I install WLM 8.1 on my pc and then I run Live Messenger Lite v8.1.0178.00, it works. But if I uninstall WLM, the Lite version doesn't work anymore and still gives me the same error. Can someone fix this problem? Is it possibile that WLM lite only works when WLM is installed?

Is there any way to translate it to Italian?
I'd do it if it's possible...

EVERYONE, try running in compatibility mode. Right-click, properties, compatibility(tab), "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Open the dropdown box and choose "Windows NT 4" Thats it! It worked for me

is there a way of removing display pics and the little orange star things from the contact list? also remove the buttons from the top panel as well then itd be perfect.
but find out what dll it is so people can regsvr32 it to get the release working. it looks like its almost there but it could be perfect with those suggested changes/additions.

if someone knew what dll it needs you coulod just "regsvr32 /s <dll name>" and itd work fine. or maybe if its not a dll normall on the system before WLM is normally installed then could get a copy of the dll file and include it in the rar file

For use this program u have to install first WLM so the program registered the dll that u need, than run WLM one time and sign in, exit and uninstall and the WLM lite will run and rock ^_^

the solution is egual:
1) Install Windows Live Messenger, run first time and sign in, if u don't want save the info u can unsave this ^_^
2) Exit and uninstall it
3) Extract the wlm lite and run them.

I encountered this errors on my pc without wlm installed, and where wlm is installed the progrum run and rock, great work but can u do somepatch for let the program work without the first installation of WLM first? I think that the problem was in the dll reg service, un can do a patch for this?

Meh. Same trouble as ever. Cant be launched on a mschine that DOES NOT have WLM installed on it already as it goes hunting to various dll's for the calls feature. Seems who ever provided this mod didnt catch alll the calls the program makes.

The ONLY version that has ever run on a machine that didnt have WLM installed on it already is Windows Live Messenger Lite 8.0.0812 Release 4. It can be downloaded here: http://www.msgshit.com/download/598 even though it's not showing in any search I've done on the site.

I tryed the compatibility mode solution, but it still gives me problems.
Win2000 (doesnt) works the same as WinXP; in WinNT mode things get even worse: in fact, without setting the compatibility mode, wlmlite generates error message only after I answer to the windows firewall behaviour question about permitting or blocking it; in WinNT mode, instead, nothing seems to happen apart a txt file created in the same folder where the exe is. Here is its content:
