Facts:

- New installer icon
- New setup look
- New Desktop icon (with TM branding)
- New installation path (C:/Program Files/Windows Live/Messenger)
- New GUI
- Windows OneCare integration
- New smile. Just type ('.') in a convo window

If setup doesn't work, try this:

By Pathetic: Windows Vista - Go to C:/ProgramData
or
Windows XP - Go to C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data

You might have to show hidden files/folders - finally delete "WindowsLiveInstaller" as well as "WLInstaller" - this should fix the issue of closing half-way through an installation.

My laptop downloads messenger but does not let me run it!
It will say, that Msn is not avaliable due to DEP settings
It will not let me turn these settings off for Msn

when it all finishes downloading at all and you click close, the actual messanger isnt in all programs and i cant find it anywhere :S

all my neightbours are comblaning this new version. i don't know y this is version of msn is working every day,every hour, every minute, every second there is a problem in this so all my kubisalla town is not support this all change it as soon as possible

have had trouble diplaying my display picture - not any of usual problems though - somehow wen you click on the "show my dp and allow others to see it" box it will always reset to unchecked wen you click ok or relpy.. also uponthe change picture option, the "don't show a picture" box is checked and greyed out so you cannot change it. also wen selecting a VALID file name ( all types tried) it will always result in a "not valid file" notice..
any advice would be great. cheers

Every single time i sign in to live messenger it immediately have a pop up saying sth like "live messenger has encountered a problem and needs to be closed" and then it closes down itself.

This is getting frustrating especially since they don't allow us to use older versions anymore.

Any help please?

if i click yes then it it dispaly error smthing like ur upgrade file is not ok do u wanna visit website .

MSN 8.5 contains Microsoft Spyware that feeds personal information back to microsoft. It loads these "mystery updates" that constantly triggers my firewall. What are they loading on my computer. I only want to talk to my buddies, not feed the MSN monster.

hey can any1 help me i try to sign in onto my MSN but it says you cannot sign into msn messenger because you are using an old version of MSN messenger.note:to upgrade MSN messenger,you need to log on to this computer as a local administrator.!What does this mean i cant go on MSN anymore can somebody help me or give any tips!

I'm having trouble donloading his onto my MacBook Pro, it just downloads a read only file:

Install_WLMessenger.exe

and that is all.

What am I doing wrong?

This version is only available for Windows, not for Mac OS.

it is the most crapest msn ever trying to download , it tell me i dont hav a passport for the internet but the week befor that i was able to download a different msn so it is sssssssssssssssssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo crap i hate it it is the worst thing ever
