When I click the download here button it downloads but just opens a text document in notepad full of absolute rubbish. It does work at all. I use vista....is that the problem? I'd dearly love to get 7.5 back but I can't see another way.

help!!!, i dl the 7.5, i change to the windows 2000, and a box comes up saying, to log in as local administrator. im on this vista as owner, i can't find where to change it? ty

If you are having troubles running Msn 7.5 on Window xp . For example-it keep telling you to upgrade to MSN Live etc.

You can try right clicking on the Msn icon (located on desktop), then go to Properties, then click on Compatibility (at the top). Then change Compatibility Mode to Windows 2000.

I currently have a new laptop, it is windows vista. And i am wanting to be able to get 2 msn's running at the same time on my computer. I already have windows live messenger on my laptop but i know the only way is to have windows live messenger and windows messenger. But i have tried many times to download msn messenger and it will not let me. Is there anyway of downloading msn messenger onto windows vista?

when I try to open msn 7.5 it asks me to upgrade to msn live when i do it goes through but comes up with an error saying"The procedure entry point SetDlDirectoryW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32:dll.
Can someone please help me with this I think it might be because my brother put windows xp pro on my computer after it crashed once and it has come up saying that it isnt valid

Where to download msn 7.5 for windows 98....

My laptop crashed not too long ago
and so i had to reload everything when i got it back. Windows Live Messenger was working horribly before the crash whenever i sent webcam it would freeze my whole computer then when i would try to open messenger again it wouldn't load.
I now have a new webcam and stupid windows live is freezing again
i tried downloading the 7.5 and deleting windows live
it said i must upgrade to sign in so i tried what you said about going through my computer, but not dice, what to do?

1st step go to " My Computer " then click " Local Disk " then go to " Programs Files " .. and you'll find a folder called " Msn Messenger " click it .. then you'll find an icon called " msnmsgr " right-click it and then go to properties .. & click " Compatibility " .. Then you'll find something writin >> run this program as .. << choose from the list " WINDOWS 2000 " .. and try signing again to MSN 7.5 .. AND HAVE FUN !! =)

if you have problems with sign in to msn 7.5 only go to the properties of the setup and than " compatibility " than make it to run for windows 2000 ....thats the problem !!

msn 7.0 doesnt sign me in anymore, I have no forced upgrade messages but when i try to sign in it seems to show a msg, but it shows so quick like a blink and msn7.0 stops functioning. When I click on it it Dings me!!! HELP!!!

Thank you, Before i was asked to upgrade I had the newest MSN before Windows Live Messenger.. which version is that cause that seemed to work for my computer but i stupidly upgraded and when using 7.5 i have to do that compatibility thing

Are you sure you removed Windows Live Messenger first? First remove it then install MSN 7.5.

OMG i live is crap coz i gt live coz it sed that 7.5 is off the system so u have to get live witch is crap but u can use Yahooo!Messenger as well with ur msn addy it works .... trust me
